Monday report
Just a quick check-in on this Christmas Eve morning. Last week went well. I wrote 4741 words, for a total of 32539 words written on the new novel. I am slowly closing in on my goal of 5000 words/week minimum. Very pleased with the progress so far.
This week is a slow one for us, as family is all far away so we won’t do much for Christmas, and F. is on call for work so we’re pretty much stuck at home. The bright side is that I will have my regular writing time this week, as well as plenty of time to goof off and hang out at home. So I may hit my goal this week. We shall see.
I’ve also started a non-fiction book, my own work not a public domain book this time. It is tentatively titled “Grow Your Own Marijuana in Colorado — Legally”. Subtitle is “A guide for non-gardeners”. As you might expect, this is a basic primer for how to grow marijuana indoors while staying in compliance with Colorado’s new recreational marijuana laws.
It’s not something I’ve talked about publicly much, given the legal constraints, but I think the “War on Some Drugs” that the United States has carried on for so long is completely misguided and counter-productive. I’m thrilled with the evidence that at long last there are some breaks in the wall holding our drug laws in place.
Anyway, onward to more writing!
