On Guns
Just a quick post to keep some informational links in place. Over at Kindleboards, there was a recent thread on writing about guns for those of us who don’t have much shooting experience. The thread is worth reading, but a couple of links were posted that I don’t want to lose track of.
One discovery from that thread is from author R. Doug Wicker, who has written a series of blog posts on firearms for fiction writers. He began with a post on revolvers, and then added a two-part series on semiautomatiics. Here’s Part 1 and here is Part 2. Thanks, R. Doug, for sharing your expertise with the rest of us!
In addition, there was a good bit of discussion on terminology, particularly the use of “clip” vs. “magazine” as ammunition-holding tools. Minuteman Review has an article discussing this further.
You’re very much welcome, Jennifer. I’m so glad that you found my series on handgun tips for writers to be informative and useful.
Please feel free to drop on by with any suggestions you might have for additional information that may prove useful for either yourself or other writers.
